I have
had a passion for health and fitness for over 25 years that began
when I was an overweight teenager and realised I needed to change
my lifestyle to achieve optimal health and fitness.
During
those years I studied Martial Arts (mainly karate) for about 18
years, competed in my first triathlon and cycling events in the mid
1980’s (and was instantly hooked), competed in athletics and
running events and also played pennant squash for most of that
time.
My
passion for fitness inspired me to research and study the best ways
that I could improve my performance and I am still continually
updating my knowledge and reading anything I can about new training
techniques. My studies included completing Level 1 coaching courses
in Cycling, Triathlon and more recently Strength and
Conditioning. I have also completed a Diploma in Sport and
Recreation.
My
philosophy is to take a holistic approach to health and fitness and
I believe that both are just as important as each other and they
must be in balance at all times. I have discovered the hard
way through my own experiences that it does not matter how fit you
are if you do not have good health you may not be able to do the
things you enjoy.
I am
looking to make a full time career out of my passion for health and
fitness and I want to help other people to achieve their goals and
to experience the feeling of being fit and
healthy.
