A Kettlebell is a
Russian hand weight that is basically a cannonball with a handle.
They range in weight from 4kg up to 64kg. They are a fantastic tool
for building strength and endurance without bulking up to much,
leaving you with a lean, mean fighting machine of a body!
Kettlebells originated in Russia and the first recorded mention of
them in the dictionary was in 1704. It appears that they were first
used in Russian markets as counter weights, until people started to
throw them around and they became very popular within Russia as a
training tool. The 1980 Russian track and field team trained with
kettlebells and had a clean sweep of gold in all throwing events.
